Volunteer in Ngorongoro Tanzania
Medi Trip has joined the COPECO project (Core of pecea in community organization).
The aim of COPECO is to empower girls and young women to reach their maximum potential, become self reliant and achieve their dreams.
The girls and young women are taught basic skills with the aim to teach:
- Self empowerment
- Interaction and social skills
The project takes place in collaboration with the Holy Foundation School deep in the heart of rural Ngorongoro.
The Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) is a protected area and a World Heritage Site located 180 km (110 mi) west of Arusha. The area is named after Ngorongoro Crater, a large volcanic caldera within the area. Admired for it's breathtaking vast, natural beauty and gracious inhabitants. This is a spectacular backdrop to unforgettable volunteer experience.
Teaching: Experienced teachers or teaching assistants are crucial as volunteers to deliver training and expertise as well as deliver teaching to the children.

Teaching Assistants: Supporting the care of the children day to day. Helping to engage the children in class, overseeing the children.
- Paediatric nursing
- Paediatric medical
Teaching first aid, assessment and delivering general medical care to the children. As well delivering small scale teaching and training to the local staff on first aid and general medical support
Assistants students are vital to help deliver the care the children required as the centre is also understaffed.
We offer volunteer placements from 2 to 24 weeks.
- Volunteer placement facilitation-full program scheduling and supervision
- Pre-arrival support & preparation of your project/work placement
- Airport pick up and transfer
- Orientation (usually begins on a Monday)
- Room & Board (Breakfast & Dinner)
- Daily in-person availability of a local coordinator
Please be aware that volunteers are required to make arrangements for their visa to visit Tanzania. A tourist VISA can be purchased in Tanzania, at the point of entry (airport arrivals) fo $50 USD.
New laws require all foreign visitors entering Tanzania for the purposes of volunteering to declare this at the point of entry and obtain a volunteer permit at the price of $200 USD. This can be purchased once you are in Arusha. This is the sole responsibility of each volunteer once they enter Tanzania. No volunteer will be permitted to have any placement involvement without both Visa and Permit.
